between the unfolded or folded part representation.

The Finite element method (FEM) , Or finite element analysis (FEA),is based on the idea of building a complicated object with simple blocks, or, dividing a complicated object into small and manageable pieces.Since the actual problem is replaced with a simple one in finding the solution , we will able to find an approximate solution than the exact solution.The existing mathematical tools will not be sufficient to find the exact solution for most of the practical problems.
Thus in the absence of any other convenient method to find even the approximate solution of a given problem , we have to prefer the finite element method.Using this method , it is even possible to improve or refine the approximate solution by using computers of higher processing capabilities.

Product structure

A component is the general terminology.It can be a part or an assembly (inside an assembly it is called a sub-assembly)

Parts and assemblies have a Part Number (the Name of the component).

All instances of a part or assembly have the same part number .Each instance can have it's own instance Name that identifies the instance.

This is recommended if the file of the part or assembly whose drawing views are to be generated is already opened in a separate window.


Start>Mechanicaldesign>Drafting

This empty sheet is used to start an empty sheet without any views.The all views option is used to generate the front , right, left,top,bottom,rear and isometric views automatically.The front, bottom , and right option is used to generate front, bottom and right views only automatically
Automatically generating the Views
You can automatically generate the drawing views using the wizards in the drafting workbench.To generate the views open the part or the assembly whose drawing views you want to generate in a separate windows
.

 

Generative drafting

The generative drafting workbench provides a simple method to create and modify views on a predefined sheet .You may add , modify or add 2D elements to these views.The sheet may include a frame and a title block and will eventually be printed.The drawing can be generated at any time; if the part or product is changed , the drawing will be automatically updated because of the associative link.


Starting a new file in drafting workbench.




1)Choose new from standard toolbar or File>New


2)The new drawing dialogue box is displayed

Shape Geometry

  1. Split geometry:-Select the element to be split and cutting element .
  2. Trim geometry:-select two elements to be trimmed and specify which side of element.
  3. Join geometry:-Select at least two curves or surfaces to be joined.
  4. Translate geometry:-Select an element , a translation direction direction (line ,plane or vector), specify the translation distance
  5. Perform a symmetry:-Select an element ,then a point ,line ,or plane as reference element
  6. Transform geometry by scalling:-Select an element ,then a point , plane or planar surface as reference element , and specify the scaling ratio.
  7. Transform geometry by affinity:-select an element to be transformed , specify the axis system characteristics , and the enter the affinity ratio values.
  8. Rotate geometry:-Select an element , a line as the rotation axis , and specify the rotation angle.
